Seamless hair growth just over a month after transplant?

Hi had to sign up to ask about this as i could find nothing about it on the internet.

It's been a little over a month after i had 6000 grafts implanted. surgery went well and the healing process I followed to the letter.

I have been expecting the hair to fall out due to shock loss and still anticipate that happening, but as i've been watching the hair, I noticed it's already growing, and not just growing, but seamlessly from the old hair that was implanted. I was to understand these hairs were temperary and just settled in the scapt to eventually fall out. Is growth normal this early? will i still see shock loss? 

You can see in my close up that there is a darker tip and a lighter bottom from the implanted hair. this shows that the originally darker hair from my donor area has started to grow seamlessly, i would have thought new hair would push the implanted hair out, not grow into it

 

Can anyone confirm this is normal and a good or bad thing? and perhaps know any similar cases?

I was about to ask this  myself! I am 3 weeks post op, and while I had a fair deal of shedding of hairs that came out with scabs, I now see growth of implanted hair (maybe like 60%-70% of them). I contacted my clinic and they said sometimes shedding happens later on, even 5 weeks post op. 

Having said that, I also wanted to know if this is a good thing or bad thing. Perhaps it means more time to see the full result? Normally people shed in the first 2-3 weeks and their recovery starts 3-4 months from there. But for those who shed late they have to be more patient. Is that accurate?

Some of the hairs simply don’t shed.  You’re one of the lucky ones.

 

 I’ve heard that something like 3% of people don’t have much shedding and basically skip the ugly duckling stage.

While this isn't common, it's also not indicative of anything good or a bad in regards to your final outcome. As with pretty much every aspect of hair growth post-op - particularly in regards to the timeline - it varies greatly from person to person, so it appears you may be one of the lucky ones who gets to bypass the ugly duckling phase.

And if they do happen to shed later, remember not to panic. The only aspect of the post-op timeline that seems to be standard across the board is that one should allow 12 months before they assess the outcome. How and when the hairs grow/shed and at what rate during those 12 months really does vary.

Thanks for the reponses. I am experiencing some shedding, so there's always the possibility it will all go eventually. just wanted to hear some answers and I got some. thank you!

At my friend was case that wasn't shading phase, or was minimal, but after 1.5-2 months he told me hair started grow up, and continued to the end of final 12-16 months, but it's not same at all people, but from case to case, so no worries, get in touch with your doctor and consult here with experienced members and will be ok.
