Regular Member Kuriko Posted November 10, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted November 10, 2021 Hey there, I was recommended by my hair transplant doctor to do PRP every 3 months for the year of healing. Apparently, PRF is the newer version and found some around the NYC area. They told me to do it 6-8 weeks 3 times a year. My question is it really necessary or even helpful? Would it be useful to use it and do it for up to 2 years after surgery to prevent any hair loss then stop?
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted November 10, 2021 Valued Contributor Share Posted November 10, 2021 Can you share who your surgeon is? This is just my humble opinion but I don't see a lot of merit in PRP in long term treatment for MPB. Others may disagree but PRP has been around for quite sometime now. On a cost versus rewards basis it's not something that I would choose. All the best!
