Regular Member vanitysucks Posted August 27, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted August 27, 2009 Can this cause more harm than good? I read something on Nizoral causing shedding. I think I might be experiencing this, should I stop nizoral all together or cut back. I don't have dandruf and was told to try nizoral for hairloss. Thanks

Dr. Glenn Charles
Patients can have different responses to the same medications. If you feel that you have had an increase in shedding since starting Nizoral, you should consider going to 2-3 times per week. If the shedding continues, you may want to discontinue Nizoral for a while and see if you get an improvement. I have never recommended using Nizoral that often on a patient that doesn't have any symptoms of Seborrhea or dry itchy scalp.
