tmpq
hi, im considering a transplant and have been talking to couple of doctors that got me all confused. first two talked about FUE, to handle just the sides of the hair line, with just a bit of touch behind the front of the head, to allow continuous hair on later receding, but they both insist you can't perform transplant when the hair still exist, but thinning, cause it'll weaken the existing hair. both were talking about ~500 graphs. then, i've turned to another doctor, who uses dhi, who suggested to hairline fix + increase hair density on the entire head, taking about ~4k graphs. that left me confuse - is it possible or not to transplant around existing hair? also, would it weaken existing hair, or actually strengthen it, as it draws more blood to the area? also, about the number of graphs - i do have hair which looks ok now, so the number difference sounds very strange to me. what is the max number of graphs that can be taken from a donor area? can beard and body hair be used later on to stretch that limit? what is a reasonable number of graphs needed to cover the entire scalp(trying to get the image of today 4k/entire graph number, leaving x donor hairs at maximum for the future, cause as i said, i do have thin, but enough hair to cover most of the head(i'd say norwod 2 i think)) what about minoxidil - im considering to start using - should i wat with the transplant to see the results? can it affect?(lets say, do i need to wait 6 months to allow it to stable, because of the hair shedding expected when starting to use the product, that wont allow the doctor a true image of the current status?) can it interfere with the treatment? would appreciate your answers. thanks.
