Hair Transplantation Has Come A Long Way! (1658 FUE/FUT grafts): Carlos K. Wesley, M.D. (NYC & LA)

In order to repair a poorly-executed transplant performed by another surgeon, this 66-year-old man underwent a combination of two approaches with [URL="http://www.drcarloswesley.com"]Dr. Carlos K. Wesley[/URL]: 1) a [URL="http://www.drcarloswesley.com/follicular-unit-extraction//"]follicular unit extraction[/URL] ([URL="http://www.drcarloswesley.com/follicular-unit-extraction//"]FUE[/URL]) session in which a total of 1658 grafts were placed followed by a [URL="http://www.drcarloswesley.com/skinmicropigmentation4/"]skin micro pigmentation [/URL] ([URL="http://www.drcarloswesley.com/skinmicropigmentation4/“]SMP[/URL]) procedure to the donor area. 

 

Three unique elements combined to help improve his experience: no-shave requirement for optimal discretion, enhanced graft storage measures, and rigid patient safety standards.

 

Graft storage was optimized as hair follicles were incubated in autologous (his own) [URL="http://drcarloswesley.com/innovations/"]platelet rich plasma[/URL] ([URL="http://drcarloswesley.com/innovations/"]PRP[/URL]) throughout the duration of the procedure.  This, combined with an ATP-containing storage solution [URL=“https://youtu.be/owR_yeezZ0o”]has been shown to enhance survival of transplanted hairs[/URL].

 

Finally, having his procedure performed in our office with [URL=“https://www.drcarloswesley.com/reducing-the-risk-of-covid-19/“]the highest standards of COVID precautions[/URL] helped ensure patient safety.
