Regular Member Scorpian Posted June 14, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted June 14, 2009 If you use minoxidil post op twice a day for a year, then once a day for another year, would you still need to use it during your third year and beyond? My concern is that the hairs could become dependent on the minoxidil and may thin out if I just stop using it. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks. Senior Member El Nino Posted June 15, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted June 15, 2009 I used minoxidil post op and I believe it did help my HT grow in quicker. I stopped using it 13 months post op and my hair never changed. Like spex says it's the native hair which could become dependent on it and not HT hair. P.S. You don't have to apply it to your native hair, just your HT recipient area. My Hair Loss Website - Two HTs with Dr. Rahal and SMP at HIS Hair. Regular Member Scorpian Posted June 15, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 15, 2009 Well, by applying it to your native hair, aren't you helping combat MPB?

Yes, but you will have to use it forever if it is helping. I only used it to help my HT grow in quicker and only applied it to my crown.
