They do not want to put any in my crown or temples as they say it will not look good due to further hair loss in the future. My question is that my crown is thinning so what are my options? I am scared to use finasteride. All I use is minoxidil and nizoral shampoo. I have been using minoxidil for 6 years but fear it is starting to lose its effectiveness. Senior Member gillenator Posted April 10, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted April 10, 2020 The problem is excessive DHT and only low dose finasteride will effectively inhibit it...my suggestion is to first discuss this with an experienced HT doctor....they can potentially start you on a lower dosage and that can help with possible side effects.
