Boozing after an HT

Recommended Posts

Sorry guys, didn't know where to put this. I had my HT on Wednesday, it's now Saturday. I haven't had a good night of boozing in about a month now. I'm wondering, is it safe to do so? Will I mess with my healing process? Thanks in advance.

Foundation,

I was told to wait 3 days post-op.

I believe it's to prevent the blood thinning and causing problems with healing.

After the 3 days I asked the doc if I could drink and he said "its fine, just don't get drunk incase you bang your head"

Foundation-

I hear you about waiting to have a few. It was hard not to have a few beers with buddies prior to the HT and after the fact you are probably more than ready to tie one on. I waited about a month, just so my body could focus on healing the recipient and the donor. I did have a beer here and there, but didn't really drink until after a month.

My initial HT thread:

done and done!! Check it out...
