Regular Member Judge Holden Posted April 14, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted April 14, 2009 Would everyone agree that you need to save donor hair for the crown? As of right now I am 27 been on propecia for 7 years and have no hair loss in my crown. If I eventually end up getting 5-6k grafts for the front of my head would that leave me enough for the crown if I end up losing it when I'm older? Senior Member HairHope Posted April 14, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 14, 2009 Nope, if I understand you correctly, actually the crown is considered a black hole if you measure the relative area... Senior Member HairHope Posted April 14, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 14, 2009 I'm using your hypothetical of 5-6K up front, from what I understand, the amount of donor hair you have in total can run from 5-10k if you are lucky, thus - I would guess you would be pushing it. Senior Member hairthere Posted April 14, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 14, 2009 just because you are balding does not mean you will lose the crown. look at your family history of hairloss and you can get an idea of what norwood number you might end up.
