Guest
If you are using rogain, then I think that it's normal. I'm not an expert in this HT discussion, but I am 3 weeks post-op, using rogain on the recipient area & I am getting a somewhat scaley scalp in that area as well. I think that it's due to the fact that the rogain is alcohol based. If youre not using rogain... then I dont know what to tell you.
Senior Member Telephone Man Posted May 1, 2004 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2004 Thanks for the Feedback Noreaster why discontinue Rogaine? Rugger Have you used the Vitamin E?
Guest
I was told by my doc to use Vitamin E oil on the grafted area post-op, until the scabs fall off. I don't think it was meant to prevent itching, but rather to make skin more elastic, help healing, and prevent scarring. I was also told to use rogain on receipient area to stimulate blood flow - I can see the skin getting a little dry there, but it's not to a point where I would consider dropping rogaine. Senior Member arfy Posted May 4, 2004 Senior Member Share Posted May 4, 2004 Minoxidil can be extremely irritating to some guys' scalps. If you have scalp peeling and you are using Minoxidil, that is an obvious factor to consider.
