Regular Member jonrctim Posted June 5, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted June 5, 2009 Why is it that the majority of my shed hairs had a very clear kink at the bottom with a black bulb and some didn't?? I'm not too concerned as things seem to be going to plan but i just wondered if anyone knew a reason for this??
Regular Member stilldeciding Posted June 19, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted June 19, 2009 are these your new transplants, old, or native hairs?
Senior Member HairIsThere Posted June 19, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted June 19, 2009 I've definitely noticed this is some of my transplanted hairs as well...I think the kink is just due to the follicle sayin cya later and sort of pinching it off during the shedding phase. - 1 HT ~ 3000 grafts - Regimen: Propecia 1X daily
Senior Member Mop Posted June 19, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted June 19, 2009 I am nearly six weeks and have noticed the same thing with my shedding grafts - the kink at one end.
Senior Member rws Posted March 8, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted March 8, 2011 Know I'm late to this post but I have noticed the same thing and it seems normal from what I've read online. Many of the shed hairs I've noticed have had a darker, thicker end, sometimes with a kink too. It seems that telogen hairs which are shedding normally include a terminal club of cells like this, and it's nothing to worry about seemingly. At 4-6 weeks I don't think there's any chance of a graft coming out with the hair.
