Regular Member harry1 Posted November 27, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted November 27, 2016 I sent some post-op questions to the office of h&w and they replied that I shouldn't lift weights for 6 months after the procedure. Has anyone else received this instruction from h&w? Were you able to follow this instruction? I could probably refrain from weight lifting for 6 weeks but refraining from weightlifting for 6 months would be challenging.
Senior Member aWidowsPeek Posted November 27, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted November 27, 2016 Then get FUE instead and lift as much as you please without worrying about a Fut scar stretching
Regular Member Bobdillan01 Posted November 27, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) Are you sure they didn't mean six weeks? The literature I have for post op (from h & w), says no running, swimming and weight lifting for three weeks and no contact sports for four weeks. I just had fut three days ago from h &w. Senior Member KO Posted November 27, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted November 27, 2016 Yeah, 6 months sounds about right. Doing it before will put you at risk for scar stretching. 3382 FUE Lupanzula http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185463-3382-grafts-lupanzula.html
Regular Member KLHT Posted November 27, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted November 27, 2016 Are we talking only about FUT here? Anyone know what H&W's instructions regarding weight lifting for FUE patients? Or your surgeon for that matter?
Senior Member aWidowsPeek Posted November 27, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted November 27, 2016 Obviously FUT and another reason i think Fue is the best answer for most people. Imagine constantly worrying your scar will stretch.
Senior Member hsrp10 Posted November 28, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted November 28, 2016 Yeah, 6 months sounds about right. Doing it before will put you at risk for scar stretching. I would have to agree, I restarted at one month and none of my scars are perfect - they are not horrible of course thank god. But if you really want an almost "invisible" scar free FUT procedure then lay of the weights for along time. If your hairloss is minimal FUE may be a good idea. go dense or go home Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others HSRP10's favorite FUT surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr Hasson, Dr. Rahal HSRP10's favorite FUE surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Couto (*indicates actual experience with doctor)

Don't know H&W's FUE post-op protocol, but Bisanga recommend two weeks only and that's what I've seen from several others as well. go dense or go home Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others HSRP10's favorite FUT surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr Hasson, Dr. Rahal HSRP10's favorite FUE surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Couto (*indicates actual experience with doctor)
