Regular Member KLHT Posted September 29, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted September 29, 2016 I've read several posts and heard patients say that when you have a small head, the area transplanted in cm2 is less and thus you can achieve a better result than if you had a larger head. ( all other factors aside : hair caliber, donor density etc...) To what extent is that true? I mean despite the fact that the area to be transplanted would be less in cm2, wouldn't the donor area be smaller as well and thus the number of grafts would be less than if you had a larger head? Senior Member Transhair Posted September 29, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted September 29, 2016 I'd imagine that having a smaller head means that you likely have denser hair as well, which means the donor may be smaller, but you can take more out of it. A big head would sort of stretch the scalp, making the head hair cover a larger surface area. Like how women can have tiny heads, and their hair seems normally thicker than even non balding guys.
