Dr. Glenn Charles
Good density is a question that has a answer that is different for each patient. The patients hair characteristics such as light vs dark, straight vs curly, and coarse vs fine as well as the patients expectations are some of the factors that will help answer this question. Donor supply really depends on the size of the available area and the follicular density. Each patient would need to have these values measured to determine how big or good the donor area is. Bill - Seemiller
RajToor, For starters, average natural hair density before any hair loss is around 80 FU/cm2. Thus, transplanting hair as dense as 120 or 170 FU/cm2 is beyond overkill. In my opinion, don't get so hung up on the numbers of FU/cm2. Work with a quality physician who can evaluate your specific circumstances and work with you to help you meet your goals. If they're realistic (which varies depending on your level of baldness, hair characteristics, and available donor hair), your chance of being happy if you select an excellent surgeon is quite high. Best wishes, Bill
