batkat15
Hi everyone, I got my hair transplant surgery around a month ago. Well, the back and sides have become quite long and bad looking, and I want to shave them off (Used to do this all the time before surgery). My question is, is it okay to run a shaver over the scar? I know it will be visible, which is fine. To blend the bald crown in with the rest, I would use a face shaver of the sides and back to make it all pretty much a 0 on the haircut scale. Would this be harmful to the scar area? The surgeon said I could shave the parts where the hair transplant was done, since the grafts are permanently in place now. Thanks! Senior Member MrGio-WHTCClinic Posted December 13, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted December 13, 2015 Are you trimming without a guard with electric clippers or shaving with a straight razor? My opinions are my own. I am one representative of MyWHTC Clinic's European branch. Consultation Dates & Cities for Dr. Patrick Mwamba London, United Kingdom - Available (Sat.) Senior Member Indi9 Posted January 31, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted January 31, 2016 A month after the op/surgery you could trim or cut with scissors even the transplanted hair. Would advise on staying away from shaving it though. Not until post 3 month from op.
