HI All,

I am narrowing down the surgeons whom I can afford a HT with and currently Dr. Pathuri Madhu is coming out as my preferred choice given his cost / skill / reputation e.t.c.

Is there anyone from the Uk / Preferable London whom would be willing to contact me to speak about their experiences ? Following an online consultation it is believed that I would need 3500 grafts so if there is anyone willing to discuss their experiences I would live to speak with them.

Hi TherealKH,

In fact I contacted Dr.Madhu too, narrowing my surgery to 4 doctors but I never got a reply.

I finally chose for Dr. Tejinder Bhatti because he gave me all the right information, answer my emails, his cost on his website is clear ( same for everyone). his results are great, he is a reputable surgeon on this forum.

Feel free to have an online consultation with Dr. Bhatti too, you have nothing to lose.

Make your choice after you do your homework comparing different surgeons.

Feel free to ask any questions you want.

You are way better off going abroad. I am from the UK and at first the concept of going outside of the UK for a hair transplant was daunting/nope. But it really is way easier than it sounds.

I agree, the only drawback for me is aftercare, if anything goes wrong then its a long way to go back, I have visited several clinics in London and they want to charge anything from 12-20k for the FUT 3000 grafts I am looking for.

The same procedure in India or Thailand (in some cases even the same Surgeon) I have been quoted 6-9k and that includes flights and hotels that I have added on.

For me now its just getting to know which surgeon I am happier with and speaking to people who have had work done with them.

Thanks for your reply, I guess there is still a decision to be made around FUE vs FUT, I was working on the assumption that in my life I would need 2 HT's so go for FUT first and then FUR after, is there any school of thought around as a first timer what the best option is - the only think that put me off Mr Bhatti was the fact he did not do FUT.

TherealHK,

Make online consultations with a few surgeons. They are the ones who really can tell you what is best for you, and the exact numbers of grafts you will need.

FUT or FUE can give you 3000 grafts or more in 1 or 2 days. Some don't want to have that linear scar at all!!

Dr. Bhatti started doing FUT than opted for FUE as he could get the same and/or even better results with FUE

So it is best you check out with the surgeon himself, compare their results, cost and reviews from other patients.

All the best.

KH,

The general consensus is that doing FUT first followed by FUE is the best way to optimize grafts in the long run. I believe Dr Madhu -- a surgeon who offers both FUT and FUE, I believe -- will say the same. He's excellent, by the way!

Dr. Blake Bloxham is recommended by the Hair Transplant Network.

TheRealKH,

In my opinion, Dr. Madhu is performing excellent hair transplant surgery in India. He is a bit of a hidden gem because he doesn't usually present many examples of his work on this forum which unfortunately does hurt him a bit. However, I feel very confident in his work ethic, his procedure and his results and feel highly confident recommending him to you and anyone considering him.

I know that darling locks likes to promote Dr. Bhatti almost any chance he gets and he is also a great doctor as are the other surgeons this community recommends such as Dr. Radha, Dr. Rao and Dr. Dua However, this topic is not about these physicians.

That said, there is nothing wrong with researching all physicians you are considering and considering multiple doctors. But since you asked about Dr. Madhu, I wanted to give you my opinion of him because I feel that he is a hidden gem that deserves more attention and recognition even though he's not as highly visible as some of the other doctors recommended by this community.

I hope this helps.

I was just being polite answering to the question from TherealHK willing :"to speak about their experience?"

TherealHK said :"The same procedure in India or Thailand (in some cases even the same Surgeon) I have been quoted 6-9k and that includes flights and hotels that I have added on.

For me now its just getting to know which surgeon I am happier with and speaking to people who have had work done with them."

It means he was looking into procedures in India and Thailand too, so it was fair as nobody answered about his experience with DR Madhu, that I did. Still anyone else there?

I felt it was right I answered this question too: "is there any school of thought around as a first timer what the best option is - the only think that put me off Mr Bhatti was the fact he did not do FUT."

If nobody here gives his experience with Dr. Madhu, I don't think telling someone to check out several surgeons is a flaw. Future patients here are desperate to know and have a maximum information before making a choice that is right for them.

I mentioned DR. Bhatti because of my experience with him and TherealHK was considering Thailand and India. I never said in a post above go to DR. Bhatti and forget the others on the contrary.

Good day,

This is a huge comfort knowing that someone with your knowledge, experience and impartiality speak so highly of him, he will certainly remain high on my list, but as you say I will ensure I have reviewed all options before making my final choice. His prices just seem to good to be true, even with flights, accommodation, food it still works out to about 1/4 of the costs that I have been quoted for the same procedure in Europe ... and not all by surgeons recommended by this site I might add !

Normally when things seem too good to be true they are, maybe this is the exception ??

I appreciate yours, and all comments, I do not plan to rush into this decision and will ensure I have researched as much as possible before I make my final choice, I have spent a lot of time in India / far east so the travel does not concern me at all, I welcome comments for people whom have experiences from all recommended surgeons and if people are willing to meet to have a chat face to face, even better !
