So am I correct in saying this forum does not recommend Dr Rao anymore ?? Or has the site just not updated his recommendation ? I was looking at either Rao Or Madhu for my procedure but not sure who to use now ??

I have been researching into the idea for a HT for several years now, I am currently taking Propecia and using some concealers, but its got to the stage where I either take the plunge and opt for a HT or Buzz cut. I was looking to use Dr Pathuri Madhu if I did opt for the HT, I’m in his area a few times per year and the cost against his reputation seems like a no brainer However I’ve seen a few people on this forum say that they were not happy with the end result with one user quoting <15% growth of a yield of over 2000 grafts. These were reviews from several years ago with nothing more recent, Is there anyone on this forum who has used him in the past year ? how would I go about getting in contact with patients of his to get a better understanding as to what I should expect ?

I appreciate yours, and all comments, I do not plan to rush into this decision and will ensure I have researched as much as possible before I make my final choice, I have spent a lot of time in India / far east so the travel does not concern me at all, I welcome comments for people whom have experiences from all recommended surgeons and if people are willing to meet to have a chat face to face, even better !

This is a huge comfort knowing that someone with your knowledge, experience and impartiality speak so highly of him, he will certainly remain high on my list, but as you say I will ensure I have reviewed all options before making my final choice. His prices just seem to good to be true, even with flights, accommodation, food it still works out to about 1/4 of the costs that I have been quoted for the same procedure in Europe ... and not all by surgeons recommended by this site I might add ! Normally when things seem too good to be true they are, maybe this is the exception ??

Is anyone still following this thread ? I am looking at Dr Madhu and am really keen to see how people have progressed whom posted to this forum or even meet in person if possible

Thanks for your reply, I guess there is still a decision to be made around FUE vs FUT, I was working on the assumption that in my life I would need 2 HT's so go for FUT first and then FUR after, is there any school of thought around as a first timer what the best option is - the only think that put me off Mr Bhatti was the fact he did not do FUT.

I agree, the only drawback for me is aftercare, if anything goes wrong then its a long way to go back, I have visited several clinics in London and they want to charge anything from 12-20k for the FUT 3000 grafts I am looking for. The same procedure in India or Thailand (in some cases even the same Surgeon) I have been quoted 6-9k and that includes flights and hotels that I have added on. For me now its just getting to know which surgeon I am happier with and speaking to people who have had work done with them.

HI All, I am narrowing down the surgeons whom I can afford a HT with and currently Dr. Pathuri Madhu is coming out as my preferred choice given his cost / skill / reputation e.t.c. Is there anyone from the Uk / Preferable London whom would be willing to contact me to speak about their experiences ? Following an online consultation it is believed that I would need 3500 grafts so if there is anyone willing to discuss their experiences I would live to speak with them.

Hi Everyone, Just wondering if anyone uses concealers with Regain, my hair is quite thin on top now (Norwood 4 or even 5) and in preparation for a HT that I am looking to have done next year the clinic have recommended I start using Propecia and Minoxidil (which I believe you have to apply twice per day) This is going to be problematic with the concealers I use Couvre and Topikk, has anyone else combined these or have they been forced to ditch the concealers and bare all ??

Ok thanks i think you are probably right, I've actually been thinning for 10 years and its getting harder to conceal each year and i think people are starting to notice, I'm currently looking into a HT but will keep up my routine while i decide to go with the HT or shave off

Hi All I have been using nanogen fibres for about 5 years however as my hairloss has continued I have added Couvre to my routine, I generally apply every 2 days after washing the previous lot out. Im concerned that the couvre has sped up the hair loss as it is quite thick stuff and must clog up hair follicles, has anyone else experienced this or could it just be my imagination ?

Sorry to Hijack the thread - Do people always use the 'locking mist' for the fibres ? and are people concerned about breathing the fibres in, I read somewhere that there are no studys that look at long term effects of using these and potentially breathing them in.
