Senior Member hairlosscpa Posted September 29, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted September 29, 2015 (edited) I recently had a FUE procedure and realized I actually like the all around buzzed look (like a grade 3). I know I do not have the donor capacity to achieve the density I want so I think temporary SMP is the way to go. Realistically, I would actually have an SMP procedure towards the latter part of 2016. I have the following questions I am hoping the community could help me out with. 1) Are there currently any recommended SMP clinics? I live in Philadelphia and would prefer a clinic in the East Coat. 2) What is the typical price range for SMP if I wanted to use it as an all around thickening effect and to conceal mild FUE/FUT scarring? I have hair everywhere, just diffused. No completely bald spots anywhere (knock on wood) 3) Is there any shockloss associated with SMP (permanent and/or temporary)? 4) If I do a thickening effect to enhance the density of a grade 2/3 buzzed look and decide to grow my hair out longer, would the SMP look unnatural? 5) How long after FUE can I have an SMP procedure? I'm guessing after a year to 18 months from the procedure to evaluate the final result? Thanks! Senior Member Spidey Posted September 29, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted September 29, 2015 with a grade three, your hair is still relatively long.. I don't think SMP would look that good with a grade three, IMO. Senior Member hairthere Posted September 30, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted September 30, 2015 1) Are there currently any recommended SMP clinics? I live in Philadelphia and would prefer a clinic in the East Coat. I own a Temp-SMP clinic based in New York. we use all Milena Lardi/Beauty Medical products and equipment and I was trained by Milena. 2) What is the typical price range for SMP if I wanted to use it as an all around thickening effect and to conceal mild FUE/FUT scarring? I have hair everywhere, just diffused. No completely bald spots anywhere (knock on wood) After a consultation I can quote you a more accurate price. 3) Is there any shockloss associated with SMP (permanent and/or temporary)? No shockloss at all with SMP. We only penetrate the scalp at .5mm with our needles. 4) If I do a thickening effect to enhance the density of a grade 2/3 buzzed look and decide to grow my hair out longer, would the SMP look unnatural? We have had clients with enough existing hair grow their hair a bit longer and it looks fantastic and blends nicely with the SMP. I think it depends if you a) have enough hair and b) that hair is uniform in its pattern of growth. 5) How long after FUE can I have an SMP procedure? I'm guessing after a year to 18 months from the procedure to evaluate the final result? Yes, I agree that 12-18 months post surgery would be an appropriate time.
