Is there such a thing as hair loss shampoo that will stop future loss?

Hey guys, is there such a thing as shampoo that you can use in the shower that will stop future hair loss? I've heard about the "volumizing" stuff, but I need something that will stop future loss (or at least slow it considerably) And would prefer to just be able to use shampoo.

Unfortunately, no.

 

Many report positive results with ketoconazole-based shampoos (like Nizoral or Nioxin). But this would provide more maintenance and possibly a healthier scalp environment (from reduced inflammation) for the follicles, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it will "stop future loss."

 

If you do start a ketoconazole shampoo, keep in mind that you may experience a fairly severe initial shed (first 3-4 months). Baring anything crazy, this should come back.
