Regular Member justgotfue Posted July 17, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted July 17, 2015 Hey, Found these on my pillow this morning, one looks like a root with 4 hairs coming from it. Are these lost graphs or just normal shedding?
Regular Member justgotfue Posted July 17, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 17, 2015 Just thinking, they must be grafts, right? If the root wasn't attached, the hairs would fall out separately, but that there are 4 stuck together at the base shows the root is also included. Dr Blake Bloxham
FUE, Was there any blood on the pillow? How far out are you? Lost/dislodged grafts bleed pretty dramatically, and you would see it. The general rule is: no blood = no graft lost. Also, if you are more than 3ish days out, the chances of actually dislodging or losing a graft are rare -- as they are pretty much locked down and permanent by this point. My vote is for normal shedding. Dr. Blake Bloxham is recommended by the Hair Transplant Network. Regular Member justgotfue Posted July 17, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 17, 2015 Hi thanks for your reply. I'm a month post op. There was no blood, but it does look strange doesn't it? Is it normal to shed a graft with four hairs coming from one root?
Regular Member justgotfue Posted July 17, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 17, 2015 Is it rare for grafts to naturally and healthily shed containing more that one hair per graft? Or could a graft containing more than one hair imply the whole graft has fallen out?
Senior Member Britanium Posted July 17, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted July 17, 2015 Your safe after 1 month. As the dr mentioned they are pretty securely in place after just a few days. anything now is just normal shedding. Did your chosen dr give you post op directions and what will happen? Regular Member justgotfue Posted July 17, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 17, 2015 Hi Johnboy71, thanks for your reply. Yes he gave me post op instructions but it doesn't mention anything about whether the shedded hairs could be singles or multiples. My understanding is that multiples are joined in the root, so if a multiple has shed, and it is still joined at the bottom, it means a root and graft has shed? Senior Member gillenator Posted July 17, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted July 17, 2015 Whether its a single hair graft or a multiple hair graft, it's the graft hair that sheds, and nothing else...
