Senior Member Dr. James DeYarman Posted April 21, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted April 21, 2015 This 48 year old man had me recreate his frontal hair line. I transplanted 1506 follicular units @ 25 grafts per square centimeter. None of the multi-hair grafts were cut down. The patient is thrilled and sent me a photo at 5 months. After seeing this I asked him to come in for more photos. Here are is results@6 months
Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted April 22, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted April 22, 2015 Very nice result Dr. DeYarman! Is that really only 25 grafts/cm^2 or might that be a typo? Senior Member Dr. James DeYarman Posted April 23, 2015 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 23, 2015 Yes they are transplanted at 25 per centimeter. The Artas will produce more multi-hair grafts and to make sure they all grow you have to stay at that number. FUE surgery is different then strip surgery as they produce different types of grafts and I don't like to divide up the grafts. The grafts with over 5 hairs per graft are transplanted in very select locations to give more fullness. When I started using the Artas I ask other doctors what density they transplant and Dr Bernstein said stay at 25/centimeter so I followed his recommendation.
