Itching with Minoxidil Post Surgery

Hi,

 

I am about 10 months post-op now after my FUE Procedure.

 

Since the surgery I have had real issues with using Minox, as it seems to cause unbearable itching. Is this normal? Would appreciate some opinions on this.

I used Rogaine for 2 years prior to my HT 5 weeks ago. My scalp was never dry. Since the HT, I re-started Rogaine 10 days after surgery and I apply it to the entire recipient area, including way up at the hairline, as per my docs instructions. I get some minor itch up front by the hairline but nothing towards mid scalp and crown.

Thanks for that May I ask if you are using the foam version by any chance?

Yes, the foam. The dropper type left my head and hair feeling very greasy all day.

I used to get unbearable itching but I went from liquid to foam which helped but it was once I started using nizoral shampoo that stopped it completely.

Hope this helps you if you are not already using it.

Thanks. I do use Nizoral, however not consistently enough. May I ask how often you use Nizoral?

 

In terms of my itching, it wasnt that bad before surgery and the problem only really started post surgery.
