1 year post-op, crusts/flakes in recipient area

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

Rougly 1 year post-op here. Transplanted hair seems to have come in just fine, no problems there. However, these small and some times not-so small yellowish crusts seem to still be forming in the recipient area and then falling out. I'm wondering if the scalp skin's still getting used to the transplanted hair, if it's a dryness issue, if I am suffering from some type of folliculitis, or am just an ultra-slow healer. If I look very closely, it even still looks pink-ish under there in the recipient area. Again, it's not too bad of an aesthetic problem because the new hair has come in well and blocks pretty much all the light, but it's still bothersome because of a slight itch and these crusts/flakes falling out.

Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Tony,

Any history of seborrheic dermatitis? I've seen a few cases where hair transplantation worsened a previous case of seborrheic dermatitis.
