Regular Member sheraz104 Posted September 20, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted September 20, 2014 I'm planning to add Biotin in my hair loss regimen. Is it worth a try?
Regular Member hairisimportant Posted September 20, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted September 20, 2014 Yes! I have seen people using it and getting appreciable results. But the results can be seen after 8 to 10 months.
Senior Member hairweare Posted September 21, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 21, 2014 By the recommendation of Dr. Lorenzo I have been taking Pilfood twice a day for the last 3 mos (I am 6 months out from a 1800 graft FUE) and it does appear that my hair and nails are growing considerably faster. I am not sure why but the quality of my hair also seems to have improved as well, less dry, thicker caliber and more shine. Can't say for sure that it is the vitamins or just the effect of the HT but there is definite improvement. In general I'm not a big proponent of supplements but if you are going that way best to take a balanced complex so as not to create a relative deficiency. I found it on Amazon
Senior Member london81 Posted September 21, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 21, 2014 Doctor Bisanga recommends biotin and MSM too. I think it does improve hair quality and does make hair and nails grow faster for sure!
Senior Member cloudy Posted September 22, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 22, 2014 I used it for 10 months now, hair and nails are growing a bit faster. As for the hair quality, don't bother about that if you think it's gonna give you some remarkable results. Anyway it cannot hurt to try, at least there are no side effects with biotin
Senior Member Garageland Posted September 22, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 22, 2014 I have recently started using Biotin about 6 weeks ago and have noticed that is seems to be making my hair grow faster as I needed to get a haircut sooner than usual. Not sure about the hair quality changing but too earlier to tell. I think like MSM it is a good to use immediately post op to speed up the native hair regrowth when you have had the recipient and donor areas shaved. I shall continue with it and see if there are any other changes that happen. --- Former patient and representative for Hasson & Wong. Regular Member kamalmalik Posted October 20, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted October 20, 2014 In webmd, it says "there is some preliminary evidence that hair loss can be reduced when biotin is taken by mouth in combination with zinc" but it says that there is insufficient evidence. Guest astuartspindlow
My advice to those who are loss their hair. Get connected to hair specialist and know reason of hair loss and after that if necessary, gone though non surgical hair restoration process. --------- Jay Patel
