Regular Member hairisimportant Posted September 3, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted September 3, 2014 Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and after reading most of the threads and blogs i must say its really a wonderful place for people who have any doubts/concerns regarding their hair. So a thumbs up to everyone here! I'm from India(chennai) 25 years old. I started to notice my hairline getting reduced some 5 years back and tried some solutions which did'nt work(thats because i did'nt care much. ). So after 5 years i lost most of my frontal hair(il post a pre-op pic soon) and was very much worried. My friend told me about Dr.Pathuri Madhu's works as one of his friends had done a HT with him and has seen very good results. So i did all the research and went to Hyderabad in the first week of consultation. Dr.Madhu said we can do 2500(+-200) to get a good natural look. Then i confirmed the date of procedure which was Aug 16th. On 15th Aug(Our Independence day..and i was like i'm going to be freed from bald look ) we started from chennai by 7 PM and reached Hyderabad by 8 20 PM. S0 from airport, there were bus services but you have to take another bus from that point to reach Dr.Madhu's clinic. I had booked my stay to a hotel very near to his clinc(just 1 km away). So we reached our hotel by 11 30 pm (YES! it took 3 hours from airport by bus:eek:). Hotel was neither super good nor pathetic. It was enough for a day stay. The next day we reached the clinic by 8 30 am. I was given all the medicines and an apron to wear. Dr Madhu came we started our procedure by 9 30 am. I didnt feel much of pain(except when the scalp was stripped:D) even that pain was bearable. Once that was done they shaved the region where hair had to be transplanted. Dr.Madhu showed me how they get the grafts too .. Then the process took about 1.5 hours. Everything was completed and Dr.Madhu told he could get only 2010:(. He said this will give you a look which will be natural. Then i was given tablets mostly pain killers. Then we left to the hotel. i didnt had any pain or what so ever so i had a comfortable sleep. The next day had my hair wash and we started to our home town. After 8 days i had my suture removal done at a local hospital and the doctor did it with ease. No pain there too. Now the hardest part as they say..to wait patiently and hopefully for my planted hairs to grow. Today is the 18th day. Il keep posting the pics and updates. Hope il get a decent amount of hair for my 2010 grafts. Once again thanks to everyone here! keep'em coming!! Cheers!!;)

britboy
great - looks good, you will need 2 more surgeries for sure, consider FUE, this si a less invasive procedure for future work.Looks like you have lots of donor area available
Regular Member hairisimportant Posted September 3, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 3, 2014 Thanks BritBoy! But Dr Madhu told he could extract only 2010 grafts saying there wasnt much of density in the donor region .. Thanks for your tips too

Regular Member hairisimportant Posted September 7, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 7, 2014 a quick question.. when will i get rid of the numbness completely ??
Regular Member htrocks Posted September 9, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted September 9, 2014 it may take 3 to 5 months until you lose all the numbness on your head. dont worry you will be fine. He seems to be proven surgeon with lot of good cases. you did the first step right. second step is completely in your hands. very important thing is to take good care and dont bump into anything. most importantly take medication regularly and keep applying minoxidil 2 times a day. since you said you are from chennai, make sure to keep your self to not sweat too much and attract lot of dust etc.. even if you do take shower immediately. if needed 2 times or more in a day if you sweat. good thing is that its past summer now. so hopefully you will have good recovery in winter and dont have to worry too much. all the best... after 7 months... you will be spending lot of time infront of the mirror. Regular Member hairisimportant Posted September 16, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 16, 2014 Hi, Below are my one month post op pics. I have few questions. 1. Am I having shock loss? 2. I'm still having the scabs every time after I take Bath. Is it normal? 3. My hair line at the front. I guess it had shed.. But will it look natural? Thanks:)
Regular Member htrocks Posted September 16, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted September 16, 2014 some of it could be shock loss on your back and its highly unnoticeable for untrained eye. ;-) you should look at my pictures for schock loss, even my daughter can find all the ugly patches. regarding 1 month scabs, its normal and everything will come back. you seem to be recovering pretty well and even your 1 month mark is looking good from my perspective. Regular Member t00ktheplunge Posted September 17, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted September 17, 2014 You may very well be having some shock loss. I had my HT about a week before you and I am pretty sure I lost a bit on top as well, which of course is scary because you are trying add hair and not lose anymore. From what I have read whatever you lose to shock loss should grow back. Good luck with your progress!!!
