BaldPilot
Hey guys- I am 35 I only have hair loss in my crown, the rest of everything looks strong. It has been in the same zone more or less for the last 10 years so I am hoping it doesn't grow but who knows. Anyway, I have had a few consults with docs via internet but I keep hearing from people that the best crown FUE guys are in Europe. I don't really want to fly to Europe to do this, and I would like to do it inside the US cause I don't want anyone to know I had it done. On the contrary, I have also heard people say crown is much easier than the front hairline, does that mean I should save money get a newer doc and it will be fine? Obviously its my only head so I don't want to come out looking like Mr. Potato Head. Any feedback from crown guys would be appreciated.
Senior Member Cant decide Posted August 20, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 20, 2014 Dr. Wong is well known for his crown work. Personally, I think Rahal does some really nice crown work as well. Konior is also a good choice. Senior Member Shampoo Posted August 20, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) BaldPilot, Below are some educational videos about transplanting the crown. The videos are not intended to suggest a doctor, but to learn about crown transplants. FUE would give you a quicker healing time But FUE will be more expensive....and less elite North American doctors With FUT you are looking at like 4-6 months for an ugly duckling phase. But FUT can fill in your crown nicely. You should keep reading and decide what works best for you. Senior Member Shampoo Posted August 20, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 20, 2014 Bald Pilot, The educational links were "Removed By the Moderator" So search YouTube with the following exact titles shown below and it will take you to the EDUCATIONAL Videos about crown hair transplants. #1. "Hair Transplant for the Crown by Dr. Sam Lam" #2. "Dr. Sam Lam discussed how to perform crown or vertex hair transplants" #3. "Can a Hair Transplant Fill in my Crown? Sara Wasserbauer, M.D." Again these videos are not for finding a doctor, but are to get a better understanding of crown transplants. BTW: I do not and have not ever worked for any transplant doctor/clinic, and the doctors in these videos that were deleted have not ever performed a transplant on me. BaldPilot
Its cool, I was able to see the videos before he took them down. Don't see why they would need to come down though, but anyway thank you for the info.
Senior Member london81 Posted August 23, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 23, 2014 Lorenzo does AMAZING crown work. The best I've seen!
BaldPilot
Yes, I have seen some great crown work from him as well, but once you factor in the exchange from dollars to Euros, flight hotel etc, it starts to get pretty expensive. I would rather stay in North America.
