Regular Member notbalding83 Posted July 12, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted July 12, 2014 Hi, I was recently diagnosed with having miniaturization in the crown/mid scalp area, but not the hairline. I was just wondering if anybody has experience starting propecia in these early stages of hair loss. I've attached pics. And I know you can't see much, but I have officially been diagnosed under a microscope with hair loss...may not be MPB...but its hair loss
Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted July 12, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted July 12, 2014 83, It is difficult to say how your body will specifically respond to Propecia. Traditionally, however, people with thinning in the vertex and midscalp who start preventive meds at an early stage tend to respond better than those who start late or suffer from frontal loss. Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted July 13, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted July 13, 2014 83, Yes, I have seen many members start at your level of hair loss. Akas, It takes at least 4 months to start seeing results from finasteride. However, it generally takes 12 months to see true results and determine how you will respond to the medication. Senior Member Yaz89 Posted July 13, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted July 13, 2014 I am taking fin from 3 months no results so far 3 months? It takes a good year to assess whether fin is working for you. Primarily maintains existing hair in the mid-scalp, vertex and crown areas. Secondly it can also grow new hairs in these areas. I have been on fin for nearly 10 months and its working for me. I see less hair fall when washing, combing etc and my crown/mid-scalp areas are looking full and thick.
