Finasteride expedites the process of hairs that are already heading into the telogen (dormant) phase. This "shed" should pass after no more than 2 or 3 months. Yes, you you will notice more hair coming off in your hands in the shower while shampooing, but just remember that these sailors were about to jump ship anyway.
