Does PRP increase graft survival?

Joe,

Some physicians like using PRP in a hair transplant in two different ways: 1.) by treating the recipient site with PRP; 2.) using PRP (or platelet poor plasma - PPP) as a graft storage medium. Some believe this helps improve yield, decreases healing time, and helps grafts stay healthy while outside the body, but all evidence is anecdotal at this point in time.

Here is an article I wrote a while back about the role of PRP in hair transplant surgery: Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP): An Important Role in Hair Transplant Surgery? Hopefully it provides some additional information. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
