Regular Member Tippin Posted May 15, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted May 15, 2014 Was thinking of getting some ink done on my arm. Just curious if anyone had some insight when it would be safe to do so after my surgery. If it at all impedes healing. Thanks in advance!
Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted May 15, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted May 15, 2014 Tip, As long as you aren't positioned in a way that could harm the grafts within the first 10 days after surgery, I can't think of any reason why a tattoo on the arm would affect the transplant. However, I would double check with your hair transplant surgeon. He/she may have restrictions on post-op activity, and I suppose tattooing could possibly be one of them! Good luck! Senior Member voxman Posted May 15, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted May 15, 2014 One thing to consider. Although tattooing and piercings are much safer than some medical professionals like to indicate, there is still always a chance of getting and carrying a disease unknowingly. Especially Hepatitis, which has been the object of many heated arguments and stringent regulations. On the slight chance you did get some blood borne infection, that blood is not going to do your little newborn baby follicles any favors. Obviously, this is an extreme scenario, but something to consider. I'm serious. Just look at my face. My Hair Regimen: Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Senior Member WHTC-7706631290 Posted June 14, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted June 14, 2014 You should have no issues if you have allowed your grafts to heal for a couple of weeks. Best of wishes!
