Hey Guys,

Please advise should I go for HT or Can my hair loss be arrested with just the treatement. I'm posting my pics of hairloss in this thread.

History: I started loosing hair at the age of 20, I started taking treatment around the age of 23 yrs for the same & have used Mintop 10 for almost 6 years.

I'm 31 now & stopped the treatment gradually in 2012 & hair loss has increased after that.

My front portion looks OK, compared to my crown area.

However don't want loose what I have in the front for a HT.

Appreciate your honest feedback

Thanks

Ivinn,

Unfortunately, hair loss is an unpredictable condition and no one can say for certain how your thinning will progress. It is also just as difficult to estimate precisely how you will respond to treatments. Minoxidil (which, to my knowledge, is the active ingredient in "Mintop 10") is a proven hair loss treatment and it should help halt the androgenic alopecia process. Most hair loss experts will tell you that using this product will help stave off the hair loss and possibly regrow some hair. Most would probably recommend finasteride (Propecia) as well. Have you ever seen a hair loss specialist and asked about this drug?

Hair transplant surgery is an effective treatment as well. It is also frequently used in conjunction with preventive treatments like minoxidil and finasteride. At this point in time, it is difficult to assess whether you are a candidate for the procedure or if preventive treatments will suffice. In order to figure this out, I suggest meeting with one of our recommended hair loss specialists and undergoing a thorough scalp evaluation.

Good luck! Please feel free to ask any additional questions.
