Regular Member sheraz104 Posted March 9, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted March 9, 2014 I have read that minoxidil after getting absorbed into skin goes into blood stream and generally works everywhere rather than the only area where it's applied. Is it true? I have used Minox for two months only stopping last Sunday due to the severe dandruff and irritation it was causing. I believe that this product was working and I can see small hair sprouting on scalp. I have thinning on the sides and back too and I was feeling the improvement all over the scalp and to the areas where I didn;t apply minox. I have tried many things to control dandruff but unfortunately it had become so painful that I had to stop minox. Now I'm afraid that I am probably gonna lose hair from the areas where I didn;t even apply minox. So is it true that when it works , it works all over? Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted March 9, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted March 9, 2014 Sheraz, You will see some systemic absorption, but it will likely work most strongly where it is directly absorbed. Keep in mind that you will lose any positive gains if you stop the medication. This includes areas where the drug directly absorbed and areas that may have been improved via systemic absorption. Hope this helps. Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted March 20, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted March 20, 2014 Pauly, The scalp is extremely vascular as well, so you will likely see a lot of distribution here in general.
