Regular Member Emerson12 Posted January 27, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 Is it appropriate to ask a clinic to meet one of there former patients personally?

Regular Member Emerson12 Posted January 27, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 Thanks NewHair! I appreciate the quick response. I've had two procedures and am looking to add density. I was hoping to meet someone personally who has had multiple procedures. Do most clinics have individuals that agree to that? Senior Member Shampoo Posted January 27, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 Yes it is a must! I was slightly wavering until I had dinner with a Hasson/Wong patient here in Dallas. Meeting with him, hearing his story, seeing his results, listening to his advice, sealed the deal for me. Most great clinics will put you in touch with patients who are willing to share their results…If I were local in Canada, I would do it for Dr Rahal. Newhairplease!! Regular Member Emerson12 Posted January 27, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 Good point NewHair - I'm going to Dr. Parsley in Louisville, KY. Apparently, from the research I've done, he is very well regarded in the industry. I'm hoping they will have some previous patients that are willing. Senior Member Shampoo Posted January 27, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 Thanks Shampoo - I plan to call the clinic tomorrow and ask. Whether it is by phone or in person when you communicate with the patient be sure and write down some questions, because people tend to forget stuff in those situations. I would have some of these on my question list for the patient you meet with: Do you work for the clinic in any capacity? Are you being paid or getting any surgery credits for meeting with me? Can you bring some pre-op pics so I can compare? If you had it to do over again would you do it? If you had it do over again what would you do different? What was the biggest surprise of the experience? Was the doctor a good patient listener during the consult? Did you get more, less, or the predicted amount of grafts you expected? Rate the pain during surgery on a 1-10 scale? And the post-op discomfort? How long did you stay in town pre-op and post-op? Are there items you suggest I have ready for the post-op experience? What made you decide on this doctor? Was the doctor present throughout the surgery day? Did the doctor work on multiple patients on your surgery day? How did you like this doctor's staff? His office? Do you suggest the hotel you stayed at? Do you mind if I call you again pre-op & post-op if I have more questions? Regular Member Emerson12 Posted January 27, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 27, 2014 Great stuff Shampoo! I will take your advice and prepare a list of questions. What my main goal is, is to have consistent density throughout. I really appreciate the feedback, this forum seems like a positive place.
