Senior Member scooter Posted January 18, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted January 18, 2014 I have heard and read that the grafts are safe from 8-10 days (because I'm at day 9) so I'm particularly interest in this .My Dr.told me I can cut my hair 14 days post op.I would assume that shaving your head will not harm your hair as the grafts should be secure.I would just be careful around the donor area ,maybe ask for a scissor cut until they see the scar. if you had a strip surgery.. 1st HT 1973 FUT's with Dr.Robert Mcclellan 6/28/2007 *unfortunately I have no info on hair count on my 1st surgery .. 2nd HT 3026 FUT's with Dr. Bernadino Arocha 1/9/2014 1's - 797 2's - 3700 3's - 246 5634 hairs http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=54945&d=1389315686 3026 FUTs 1 day HT#2 post op frontal picture

Senior Member hsrp10 Posted January 19, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted January 19, 2014 There is a post by Dr Feller (?) I believe that cautions about waiting a little longer, as the shaver may pull or tug on the transplanted hairs affecting the new follicles. I think a search will bring it up. go dense or go home Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others HSRP10's favorite FUT surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr Hasson, Dr. Rahal HSRP10's favorite FUE surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Couto (*indicates actual experience with doctor)
Regular Member joejohns Posted January 20, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted January 20, 2014 Guys, can I use a trimmer to shave (0 size) my hair? I am @ 20 days post op and not lost transplanted hairs.. Thank you Manish after my first procedure (about 25 days postop) I used a shaver (with the rotary blades) and ran them lightly over the head without touching my scalp too much. Did not seem to effect the results. However my Dr did caution me against it as he said the direction of the transplanted grafts may alter. But I will take my chances after a month or so.
