Avodart vs Propecia? Benefits? Concerns?

I recently asked my physician about going back on Propecia; I was on it before I started seeing my current physician, and then stopped after switching to Rogaine some years ago. I have since learned I should be using a combination of both for maximum benefit.

 

Anyhow, when I sent him an email, he responded with "Propecia and Avodart are testosterone blockers (good for hair loss and I prefer Avodart over Propecia due to the side effect profile".

 

I searched the forums and haven't really come across anything definitively comparing the two. Would greatly appreciate the wisdom / insight from others who have compared both and made a decision one way or the other.
