Regular Member JohnGage Posted December 15, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted December 15, 2013 (edited) Few days following hair transplant surgery (including FUE), some patients say they experience nerve pain. Sometimes referred as occipital nerve pain, post-op nerve sensitivity or neuropathic pain. This pain is believed to be caused by damaged nerves. The main symptom is sharp pain at the donor area + very sensitive to touch. Gets worse at night for some reason. I have read that this may be caused by trauma to the occipital nerve during administration of the local anaesthetic. Does a manual punch vs motorized punch make any difference? Is this caused by the punch going too deep? What do you think? Have you experienced this? On a scale of 1 to 10 how bad was your pain? When did it start? How long did it last? How did you treat it? How can this be avoided? Edited December 15, 2013 by JohnGage
