Regular Member Goldilocks Posted February 2, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted February 2, 2009 Generally speaking, smoking inhibits blood flow and can slow down your recovery time. I have read that it is thought that there is a connection between hair growth from transplants being less for smokers than for non-smokers, however the scientific evidence is not substantially strong to say to what extent it has a negative impact. Regardless, why take the risk?
Senior Member latinlotus Posted February 3, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 3, 2009 Smoking and booze is bad for everything. Why would you think that it may not affect your hair growth. From what i know, the healing period (the first month) is very important. You would want to do everything to speed up the healing, and that includes not smoking and drinking. You don't need a doctor to tell you this. ******** I am not a doctor. The opinions and comments are of my own. Senior Member mmhce Posted February 3, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 3, 2009 bobby13, They are all right. Smoking reduces the oxygen carrying capacity of blood and consequently healing implications. Alcohol is gross quantities does not help either. take care...
