Regular Member Maines Posted July 30, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted July 30, 2013 hello every1, would be glad to get enlightened a bit here. 1) how likely is it that shockloss in the donor or recipient-area occurs? 2) how likely is it to be permament or will hairs always recover after some time? 3) whats the reason for shockloss? i thought shockloss occurs when the tissue gets damaged so the blood flow stops etc. if that is true and we get a HT with a high densitiy, would that also increase chances of shockloss in these areas? thanks
Dr. Glenn Charles
The more grafts you place in an area that has existing hairs will likely have a higher percentage of shock loss. Only the sick/ unhealthy hairs would be lost permanently. Healthy hairs that get shocked should grow back. Shock loss is relatively rare in the donor area.
