Properly done,there should not be sufficient tension generated in the closure following excision of donor tissue to detrimentally constrict blood/oxygen supply to the hair follicles in the region around the donor zone.

Could a bit.

 

The levels of collagen beneath the occipital ridge is different (lower I believe) and the tension of the closure is also different if donor follicles are harvested from here.

 

I can't tell you if the tension is greater or not when compared to excision from on the occipital bump, for two scalps of the same given laxity.
