GNX1
the patient needs another 3000 grafts. thats not much of an improvement imo. its thin and the temples and crown are still bald.
Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted April 26, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 26, 2013 I personally see a cosmetic difference. It's a more subtle result, but still natural and appropriate for the patient. Nice work. Regular Member Tammy13 Posted April 26, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 26, 2013 We appreciate the comment. There is rarely a patient who does not want more grafts and density but as you know we cannot match one for one density in the recipient area. There simply is not enough donor in a patient with moderate to severe hair loss. That said our approach is to try to use as few grafts as possible to attain the results that meet the patients expectations and preserve donor hair. Also we take into account the FU density, hair caliber and scalp laxity. In some instances it is prudent to take less and assure that the donor area closes without tension. This approach and our use of the ledge closure for strip harvesting has allowed us to provide patients with a donor scar that afford them the ability to wear their hair quite short. *note* the crown in this patient was not transplanted
