Regular Member manish1990 Posted March 25, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted March 25, 2013 i have been in a strange situation from past 5-6 years have to shave or trim( 0 size) every 3 months to stop hair loss . usually after every shave my hair grows thick ,black, healthy for only 2.5-3 month but after that all of sudden i see huge hair loss ,thinning and graying .i m repeating this seen 2007 any solutions ? i have just trimmed my hair 1-2hrs ago and for the 1st time in my life srted using TUGAIN (Minoxidil 5%, 1st day today) and i think getting 1200-1400 FUE grafts done by Dr T Bhatti would be of no use if it continues like this. Regular Member ronht Posted March 26, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted March 26, 2013 I don't think shaving your head off every two/three months is helping you in any way to arrest the hair loss. It only gives the illusion that your hair loss has stopped, as the hair no longer gets stuck in the comb as you obviously are not using the comb or you don't notice them fall out in clumps while shampooing. The follicles will continue to get weak and fall off ,only it will get unnoticed. The Minoxidil 5% you have started using would be the answer to slow down the loss. The only benefit of using Minox on a shaved head is, it might more easily reach the whole scalp without getting wasted . In addition you might want to start with finasteride 1mg. Regular Member manish1990 Posted March 26, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 26, 2013 i think hair does trend to fall less after trimming .like after 1 month from trimming i only lose about 5-10 hairs while shampoo but after 3 months lose hair like crazy sometimes more than 50-60 per shampoo . in addition to that i can see/feel new hairs within 30-40 days of trimming but things change after 70-75 days it has been like this since past 5-6yrs. Bill - Seemiller
Manish, Cutting, shaving and growing your hair does nothing to stop or even cause hair loss. What you are most likely seeing is an illusion of thickness since all of your hair (including miniaturizing hair) is growing back after you shave it Then, after your hair reaches a certain length, the miniaturizing hairs (the ones affected by male pattern hair loss) begin to shed, creating a thinner looking appearance. Hair goes through cycles and includes 3 phases: growth (anagen), shedding (telogen) and resting (catagen). When hair loss sets in, the hair growth cycle shortens for hairs affected by it. Thus, these hairs will spend much less time in the growth phase and more time in telogen and catagen. Your greatest chance of saving these hairs are by considering proven non-surgical solutions such as Propecia and Rogaine. These two treatments (especially when used together) have a high success rate of slowing, stopping and even reversing the effects of genetic hair loss. I recommend consulting researching these treatments and consulting a dermatologist or hair restoration physician to discuss this further. Best wishes, Bill
AstroNeil
I personally think that this is very unique problem and shaving and removing your hairs in particular time span do not help you out in any sense of getting your hairs back although it affects the hair growth, So it would be better to concern with the specialist doctor as they will guide you better than anybody else and now a day’s technology has already reached the sky so doctor may consult you appropriate treatment. So if are the living in Plano then I would recommend you doctor D.J.Varret as I have heard about them from too many people.
