  1. Tihom, how is the progress? You said you were suffering from major hair fall after the HT. Has it stabilized since?
  2. Thanks Tihom for the update. Report says you had a trichophytic closure. Could you please post some pics of the scar/donor area? I think after one month the stitches should have come off. You say you are suffering from major hair loss. Have you started applying Minoxidil? From the images,it seems not all the scabs have come off from the recipient area.
  3. I don't think shaving your head off every two/three months is helping you in any way to arrest the hair loss. It only gives the illusion that your hair loss has stopped, as the hair no longer gets stuck in the comb as you obviously are not using the comb or you don't notice them fall out in clumps while shampooing. The follicles will continue to get weak and fall off ,only it will get unnoticed. The Minoxidil 5% you have started using would be the answer to slow down the loss. The only benefit of using Minox on a shaved head is, it might more easily reach the whole scalp without getting wasted . In addition you might want to start with finasteride 1mg.
  4. Tihom,It's been almost a month since your HT. Could you please update about your progress?
  5. I’d like to thank Mariek for starting this thread though. I am a hair-loss sufferer who is thinking of getting HT done. I have been helped immensely by the members here with their discussions and inputs. I am from India and if I opt for the HT it will be from a doctor in India. I will not be able to tell much about the doctors mentioned here who are from other countries as I am focusing my search only for surgeons from India, but one thing which is bothering me is why the two doctors recommended here from India are hardly mentioned in other similar forums. The other forums are full of praises for doctors (from India) who are again hardly mentioned in this forum. I mean , if a doctor is good, he/she should be praised and get positive reviews everywhere and people who are researching about their doctors don’t restrict their search in a particular forum. This is in no way suggesting that I am doubting the veracity of the posts and praises here but it would have been a little more reassuring if one would find their mentions a little more in other forums and vice-versa. Please I’d like to have my doubts cleared by the members and again this is in no way intended to question the skills of these surgeons or the recommendation process.
  6. Will like to see your update. Please post the pictures.
  7. Tihom, it is a week since you last updated. Would you like to share your progress? Have you trimmed your hair yet?
  8. GNX1,this comment might confuse some. Can you please explain? Is there any doctor from India who falls in this category?
  9. Tihom, did you have any talk with Dr Radha about how visible the scar would be after the healing. I have heard about this 'trichophytic closure technique' which is supposed to make the donor area scar pencil thin, in which case it will be possible to cut your hair short in future.Does Dr Radha use this technique? This scar issue is something to worry about before going for the FUT/strip surgery.
  10. Tihom, how long does it take before going back to work? You are maybe now about 10 days post-op. Is it still too obvious for others to tell? What is your personal opinion now about the HT when you look at the mirror. Maybe it is too early to tell but I am eager to know as I am planning the HT and still a bit uncertain.
  11. Tihom, how does the scar look after the removal of the sutures? Has the doctor prescribed any shampoo/medication? Please share your thoughts as we understand that you were a little uncertain before going for the HT with Dr Radha.
  12. Thanks Tihom for the prompt update. It seems your experience matches with the other members who had their surgery earlier with Dr Radha.
  13. Hi tihom, I've just joined this forum but have been a regular visitor. Me also considering an HT with Dr Radha sometimes soon. Can you provide me with your mail or contact number?
