Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted January 22, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted January 22, 2013 This nice fellow had 3100 grafts a few years ago. I had the occasion to see his wife recently and asked her how he was doing. She said that he looked great, but as they were trying to get pregnant…he’d stopped propecia and had lost a little more in the crown. She tried to get him to stop by the office but due to his busy schedule the best she could do was email in a few pics from home. They show a nice natural appearance and I’m still hopeful that we’ll get an in-person checkup this year. Pics are from preop, day of surgery, 1 week, 1 month, 17 months, and about 3 years. Senior Member chrisdav Posted January 22, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted January 22, 2013 Great work Dr. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
Regular Member Shabs88 Posted January 22, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted January 22, 2013 Outstanding work Dr. Lindsey thank you for sharing! One question I had was that, since I'm getting married soon having children is on my mind for the near future. I'm on Propecia but is it necessary to stop taking it when trying to have children? Please let me know your thoughts..thank you!

Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted January 28, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 28, 2013 Pregnant women should not come in contact with propecia pills. The company says (or their reps do when they have visited the office) that otherwise its safe. My general feeling is that you have 1 shot at pregnancy and embryo formation...and I personally would try to eliminate all unnecessary risks to the child. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H. Senior Member zenmunk Posted January 28, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted January 28, 2013 "Nice natural appearance," indeed. Good work! Dr. Lindsey, how long before conception would you recommend discontinuing finasteride for the best chance at a safe outcome? Thanks.
Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted February 13, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 13, 2013 Thanks I have no recommendation on the propecia and pregnancy. Best to check with the OB/GYN. With my level of control problems...I personally would have it out of the house for a while before conception. Probably overkill, but if the kids came out with too many toes....I'd be blaming myself whether or not it had any merit. Good luck to you all. Dr. Lindsey William H.
