Regular Member 21YearsAndScared Posted January 20, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted January 20, 2013 I'd like to know why exactly is it cheaper? If it's the exact same medication, it doesn't make much sense for such a price drop even if it's purchasing in 'bulk'. Why would they have a whole new name for the same medicine with a different dose, are the ingredients different? I'm asking because although I appreciate a cheaper medicine, I don't want to be jeopardizing the potential success of the effects of a better medicine. Senior Member TommyLucchese Posted January 21, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted January 21, 2013 Proscar was introducted to help men with enlarged prostates, then they realised a side effect was it helped with hair loss. So they repackaged it, put a new name on (Propecia) and put up the price - as they knew hair loss sufferers would spend the cash. Same thing, so everyone says. 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now. Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018. Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week. Wrote a book for newbies called Beating Hair Loss, available on Amazon
