public_enemy0000
I'm almost 23 years old been on Propecia for 1 year now and have early frontal loss! I'm a NW2 rite now but the hairs in the front are miniaturizing espcially the center of my hairline and temples but still have a full head of hair. Also a miniaturization test said I have MPB. After 1 yr on Propecia I have about the same hair since I started the drug. I been reading I can still get my hairs thickened which is all I need up to 2 years!? Is that really true? Because the official reports say results say by 12 months!

Senior Member brentipold Posted July 9, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 9, 2009 public, you should look into possible getting a PRP treatment. Its suppose to be very good with minituration.
public_enemy0000
What's a PRP treatment? As far as I know Propecia and Rogaine are the only 2 proven treatments that work for MPB but Rogaine is too much of a hassle and Propecia is far more effective then Rogaine so I'll stick with Propecia! But I just wanted to know if I can really get regrowth up to 2 years!
Regular Member greenmud Posted July 10, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted July 10, 2009 hi public, I think the propecia website said that after a year you can see if the drug is working or not, so first if you haven't experience any hair loss then the drug is working and continue to use it because if you stop then you are going to continue to thin and lose hair. Not sure if your hair will thicken though...
public_enemy0000
I won't stop Propecia, I know maintaining hair is the primary benefit of the drug. But what I understood on their website is that regrowth should happen between the months of 6-12! And by 12 months you should have full benefits!? It's kinda confusing lol. Senior Member xxy Posted July 10, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 10, 2009 Seems like it's stopping the loss, but Rogaine might help with regrowth.
public_enemy0000
Well Propecia is far stronger then Rogaine in stopping and regrowth! I know Rogaine mite help a little but it's way too much of a hassle! I'm sure many can quote me on this!
Senior Member brentipold Posted July 10, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 10, 2009 I really don't think either of them regrow hair very well. they just improve the quality of existing hair, which makes your hair look more dense.

Senior Member xxy Posted July 10, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 10, 2009 Well it depends on the person and if they respond well. Personally, I have had quite satisfactory, visible results of regrowth from Rogaine. I agree it's not the easiest thing to use, but it takes me less than a minute to apply, and that's it. I don't really know about all the trouble other people complain of. Of course taking a tablet would be better. But if I had the choice, I'd take both. public_enemy0000
XXY, you are lucky to get good regrowth from minox! Only 15% of people do!
Senior Member xxy Posted July 12, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 12, 2009 Well, my hairloss was very minor, I was barely NW2. So I wasn't trying to revitalise follices on shiny spots that had been dormant for years or anything.
public_enemy0000
I'm a NW2 but have early frontal hair loss and I started Propecia like only 4 months after noticing that my hairline is more see through. And yet didn't get regrowth!
