Senior Member SADbutTRUE Posted January 12, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted January 12, 2013 hello all. is there any evidence out there is someone has been on propecia for at least 1 year, and goes for a HT, does he or she have a better chance to not get schockloss from either frontal area or donor area, theory being propecia strengthens hairs so maybe the hairs dont get shocked n fall out. any info helpful thanks for reading. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted January 12, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted January 12, 2013 I've been reading Dr. Rassman's blog for years and he has repeatedly insisted that is does help prevent shock loss. He'll even have patients - who don't want to commit to taking propecia indefinitely - take it as a temporary precaution before their surgery date arrives. I don't there know if there is any clinical evidence however - it appears to be all anecdotal. I will add that I think he is referring to a reduction in permanent shock loss, not temporary. Senior Member steve0580 Posted January 12, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted January 12, 2013 I wasn't on Propecia at the time of my first or second transplant, however, I was on it for the thrid and thereafter. I'mcertain that I had less shock loss and stronger growth.
