Senior Member mrkneed Posted January 11, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted January 11, 2009 Spex, Read your post about how nizoral is not good due to the fact of heavy shedding. Are you saying it should be discontinued and or does this go for revita shampoo as well since it has Kentazocal (sp?). Thanks! Bill - Seemiller
will27, The post he's referring to can be found by clicking here. Mrkneed, I agree with Spex that in my experience, the Nizoral 2% (the 2% is for the amount of ketoconazole) caused my hair and scalp to become dry and I had a good amount of shedding. Due to how heavily medicated it is, using it the first month after a hair transplant is not suggested. Revita contains only 1% ketoconazole. I still don't recommend it the first month after a hair transplant, but it's a lot gentler on the hair and scalp in my experience. Best wishes, Bill
Regular Member will27 Posted January 12, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted January 12, 2009 thanks Bill, After reading the thread I get the impression that the issue was more of an awareness situation than anything else. Every medication seems to cause shedding when first used. Maybe the point is that if you over-use nizoral the shedding will continue to happen, not sure though. I find this topic interesting because I just started using nizoral. I use it every third day with a 10 minute application. Maybe I will use it a bit less, especially once my revita comes in the mail. thanks
Senior Member mrkneed Posted January 12, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted January 12, 2009 Bill, You recomend not using revita for a month after a procedure even though it has copper peptides, msm and other positive ingredients?
