This fellow travelled to see me in the spring. Shown are preop, intraop, 1 week, 1 month scar-check, 3 month pics he emailed in, and today’s pictures just shy of 7 months. He looks great and should improve more before the 1 year mark. I think it’s likely we’ll do a second case to address the crown next summer.

I'd guess we'll get 500 fewer on the second case due to a decrease in donor density from slight stretching of the hair-containing scalp and tightness of his overall donor region. Plus even though he'll have the same ratio of singles...we need fewer. So it becomes in some selected areas, do you take the singles and put them in with another single, which in the front would look odd as they may not grow in the same direction--but back in the back its irrelevant--all you want is hair bulk and density; or do you have the cutters include them in a larger triple--again which might look unsightly were it not for its placement way back in the back where all you want is bulk.

He has pretty wirey hair, so we'll probably do the first of those 2 options. For a fine hair'd person, probably some of the second choice.
