mindcage
I've been visiting this website long before having the procedure at the end of June 2012. I didn't want to be a panicky poster, but alas, I do need some reassurance. At 30 years old I'm 12 weeks out from the 1522 FUT, as performed by Dr. Dorin in NYC (which was a fantastic experience). While I understand it takes 8-12 months to really see the final result, I'm just begining to become anxious about the progress of my hairline as there doesn't seem to be much going on. My hair line is much less dense than it was going in, so I'm not sure if that's just my original hairs growing back or the new hairs spurting while the originals were shocked out. If the latter is the case, is it really possible to lose so many? Everyone in the doctor's office seemed impressed, and stated so, by how densely the doctor crammed those suckers in there, so frankly I was hoping for a tight hairline. As you can see in the photos I have attached, much of the scalp is still rather red. Normal & good? BTW, I am healthy and fairly active, and began to see slow hair lose over the past 5 years. I appreciate any input! Thanks!
Senior Member Slickers Posted September 22, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted September 22, 2012 Mindcage relax. All normal, all good. Have a look at some grown out results on here and compare where they were at 3 months. In short, the same place. Things are only starting to happen at that point. Have a look at Johnny B's result. A well known stellar result. Note even his comments at 3 months Hair Restoration Journal for Johnny B - 3 Months(No New Growth Yet!!)
mindcage
Thank you very much, Slickers. Makes sense. I just really was hoping I had super powers.
Regular Member riloal Posted September 25, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted September 25, 2012 Mindcage, keep us posted. I am looking into a HT myself to thicken up my NW 1.5 hairline, interested to follow your case with the dense packing. Dr. Dorin is a great surgeon, so I think you are going to be pretty pleased with your result, even without the superpower recovery
