Senior Member Shampoo Posted August 18, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted August 18, 2012 One tip I wanted to pass along after having a 4352 graft surgery this past week is how important my neck pillow has ended up being. I had read over the last year how some guys had a lot of trouble post-op sleeping or just getting comfortable in a bed or a recliner. So last weekend right before my surgery I bought a $10 neck pillow at Bed Bath & Beyond that has really made a huge difference for me. This is not a blow up type, this is a nice soft comfy neck pillow. I know some have already stated a neck pillow didn't really help them, but for me...my neck pillow has been a lifesaver. My neck pillow has allowed me to sleep in my bed, sleep/relax in my recliner, fly home, all while keeping my donor area and new graft area safe and away from any direct contact. So neck pillows may not work for everyone, but for me it has been my single most important post-op tool. Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted August 18, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted August 18, 2012 Shampoo, Thanks for the tip! I know many post-operative patients really like using a neck pillow for the first few nights. Senior Member Shampoo Posted August 18, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 18, 2012 Blake it has been a wonderful surprise how well it works. I've never used one before. Pre-op I was worried about protecting donor and graft sites, but this little $10 neck pillow has done the trick for me.
